WSVN-Ch. 7 is reporting that authorities have removed a live grenade from a woman's Kendall backyard.

According to the station, Jean Viollis called Miami-Dade police after she discovered the grenade in the backyard of her home at 98th Court and Southwest 84th Street on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials closed down the neighborhood and evacuated surrounding homes until the Miami-Dade bomb unit removed the device.
