LITHIA, Fla. - A Hillsborough County woman was arrested Thursday after she reportedly threatened to blow up Pinecrest Elementary School, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office.
26-year-old Jessica Schauer of Lithia was at her child's school, Pinecrest, when she was heard to say, "Don't bring your kid to school that day". When asked "which day" she replied, "The day I blow it up," according to the sheriff's statement.
Her comments were heard by two witnesses.
The following day, one of the witnesses reported the statements to the school's principal, who in turn called the Sheriff's Office.
Schauer was arrested at her home on Wendel Avenue around 11 a.m. Thursday. She's charged with one count of threatening to discharge a destructive device.
She was held on $7,500 bond, according to jail records.
