A drunken Hollywood man apparently thought a marriage license also provided him license to assault his wife, according to an arrest report.

Henry Ramos, 46, spent most of the weekend in jail and appeared in bond court Monday after he was arrested at his residence and charged with domestic violence assault and resisting arrest.

In their arrest report, officers wrote that Ramos seemed surprised that his alleged actions were not common practice.

"What? You never put your hands on a woman?" Ramos reportedly yelled at police officers. "I can touch my wife any way I want to."

According to the arrest report, the incident began shortly before midnight Saturday when Fatyma Pavlora called Hollywood Police saying her husband came home extremely intoxicated and grabbed her face, threatening to hurt her.

Officer John Lorenzo noted in his report that he could hear yelling coming from inside the couple's apartment in the 4900 block of Hollywood Boulevard.

When the officer knocked on the door, he heard Ramos repeatedly yelling, "Get the [expletive] out of here."

When Pavlora opened the door, the officer noticed Ramos sitting at a living room table drinking a beer, the report said.

Police tackled Ramos after he allegedly began walking toward them with a clenched fist. The report said officers had to strike Ramos on his legs after he fought efforts to be placed inside a squad car.

After reading from the arrest report during bond court, Broward Judge John "Jay" Hurley left no doubt that Ramos was not permitted to touch his wife "any way I want to."

"The law does not agree with that position," Hurley said while setting bond for Ramos at $6,750.

Hurley also told Ramos not to have any contact with his wife if he does make bond: That could be a problem: Earlier, Ramos told the judge that Pavlora was the person he needed to bond him out of jail.
