BELLE GLADE, Fla. - Dozens of community leaders packed Lakeside Medical Center in Belle Glade for a visit from the governor Tuesday
It's the first time governor Rick Scott has sat down with the various mayors from the Glades area.
Civic leaders urged the governor to remember the western communities when talking about job creation.
"We were discussing mainly jobs which is one of the main issues that we are facing as a community, of course you know no jobs, you can’t provide the type of service we would like to provide for our citizens of course you know crime and other things that come with the lack of jobs,” said Pahokee Mayor Colin Walkes .
The governor then toured the Village of Wellington.
