Gator goes for a swim in Florida pool

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - A Florida couple got a big surprise in their backyard. An alligator was taking a dip in their pool.

Anne Marie Donovan said her husband first noticed the alligator when he came home for lunch.

Donovan's backyard is right next to a lake. The gator got into their pool by tearing through the screened in enclosure.

A trapper showed up to help get the gator out of the pool.

She asked a neighbor for help taping its jaws shut.

The gator was dragged away with the help of more neighbors.

It is now considered a nuisance gator and will be put down.
