PALM BEACH COUNTY/TREASURE COAST - Gas prices remain at the lowest average of the year, inching downward since last week.
AAA released new details that report Florida’s average for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.29. That’s two cents lower than last week, and more than fifty cents lower than a year ago at the same time.
However, according to AAA, both oil and gas numbers should be lower based on supply and demand numbers.
On the Treasure Coast, the lowest price available at any gas station on Monday morning was $3.16 a gallon, while it was $3.15 in Palm Beach County.
Experts say pump prices are expected to continue the pattern of decline in coming weeks, but the trend won’t continue forever.
“When the government reopens, motorists will likely see gas prices inch back up a bit on optimism the economy will get a jump start,” said Jessica Brady, AAA spokeswoman.
