HOLLYWOOD, Fla. - The FPL Port Everglades smokestacks were imploded on Tuesday morning.
Florida Power and Light is demolishing the 1960s-era plant to build a more fuel efficient plant that will be powered by natural gas.
The demolition lasted approximately 35 seconds and the replay can be seen here.
According to @insideFPL, the project will create 650 jobs and bring in $20 million in new tax revenue.

Experts say 450 pounds of dynamite were used to bring the stacks down.
