THONOTOSASSA, Fla. - A former professional wrestling champion is sporting some new jewelry. Hillsborough deputies slapped a pair of handcuffs on James "The Anvil" Neidhart, 55, Sunday.
They were called to the AJ Food Market at 9806 Tom Folsom Road in Thonotosassa to take care of an unruly customer. When they arrived, they found Neidhart at his silver Pontiac Sunfire parked near a gas pump.
He was shouting and attempting to open a prescription pill bottle. According to the police report, he dropped several pills on the ground while trying to ingest them.
Deputies said they searched Neidhart because he became argumentative. They found three prescription pill bottles containing 28 methadone tablets and 95 oxycontin pills in his left pants pocket, according to the Sheriff's Office. The pills were prescribed to someone else. Records show they had been reported stolen on Friday.
The former World Wrestling Federation Tag Team champion was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and trafficking in a controlled substance.
Neidhart was born in Tampa but maintains a home in Canada. He is listed as a self-employed entertainer on the police record. He is the father of current World Wrestling Entertainment Diva Natalya.
