FANNING SPRINGS, Fla. - - Wildlife officials say a sturgeon fish jumped into a boat and seriously injured a 25-year-old woman.

The incident happened Sunday on the Suwannee River. Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers say Tina Fletcher was a passenger in an airboat when the sturgeon jumped and hit her leg.

Fletcher's leg was broken.

According to FWC records, this is the fifth report this year of a human injured by a jumping sturgeon.
