CAPE CORAL, Fla. - An 81 year-old Lee County woman was arrested this week charged with stalking as well as aggravated assault.

Viola Heineman of Cape Coral was sent to jail for the first time in her life after an alleged ordeal with her neighbor and the neighbor's 85 year-old mother.

Heineman describes herself as a sassy senior citizen and considers herself to be a kind-hearted person, baking cookies for the whole neighborhood and even taking them all out to dinner.

Heineman says that her neighbor wanted to be her caretaker, but she refused. When he confronted her about whose car is in her driveway everyday he got angry.

According to the police report, when he would not answer Heineman's phone calls, she made 9 harassing and vulgar calls to him and his mother.

Police confronted Heineman and she reacted by raising her walking cane and said, "I'm going to hit you with this," to an officer.

Heineman says that she did not mean to hit the officer, she just raised her cane too quickly. She was arrested and taken to jail on felony charges.

As for how Heineman felt after, she says," It was a stupid thing to do. I won't do it anymore. I learned my lesson."
