TAMPA, Fla. - A pregnant mother died after she and another mother, both carrying strollers, were hit in a Hillsborough traffic accident Wednesday night.

Doctors are operating on the victim in an attempt to save her unborn child.

The accident happened at 43 rd Street N and Hillsborough Ave E, according to authorities.

The deceased mother’s child that was in the stroller was seriously hurt.

The other woman and child are said to be ok.

It appears the driver is cooperating with police.

Hillsborough Avenue was closed westbound from 40th Street to 47th Street as police investigate.
