Derric Maurice Johnson charged in Brianna Addison death in Fort Myers, sources report

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) -- The live-in boyfriend of a woman whose daughter died has been charged in the girl's death.

The News-Press ( http://newspr.es/XYo16u ) reports that 31-year-old Derric Maurice Johnson was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated child abuse and negligent homicide.

Two-year-old Brianna Addison was pronounced dead Wednesday. She had been left alone with Johnson while her mother was at work.

The state Department of Children and Families is investigating Brianna's family, and her two siblings have been temporarily removed from the home.
