SEMINOLE, Fla. (AP) -- Deputies have arrested a 16-year-old boy who authorities say asked another student to help him with a Columbine-like massacre at his high school.
The teen was charged Wednesday with solicitation to commit murder.
Pinellas County deputies say the teen was studying a book on the Columbine massacre and was in the process of gathering maps of Seminole High school and a list of firearms.
Investigators also said they found other evidence of the plot, with the teen describing in detail how he would carry it out and who he would target: people with a history of being cruel or neglectful to animals.
The sophomore student was involuntarily committed to a mental health facility last Friday and was later taken to a juvenile facility.
