Deputies: Babysitter Philip Kenneth Landino, 48, drank two four-packs of beer

Babysitter Philip Kenneth Landino, 48, was supposed to pick up two boys from school but instead was found passed out on a couch after the boys' auntie reported them missing from their Dunnellon home, reports the Ocala Star-Banner.

Authorities had launched an all-out search after Landino initially told them that he picked up the children from school, fed them and put them to bed, according to an arrest report.

But police said he decided to babysit the beer instead: He later confessed to dozing off after drinking two four-packs of beer.

Landino was charged with providing false information to a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest without violence, according to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies called the principal where the boy's go to school, and found out the children were with her.
