FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -

A Florida woman who authorities say did nothing to help as her husband fatally stabbed one of their sons and wounded another has been convicted of child neglect, but jurors couldn't agree on a verdict for her manslaughter charge.

With Monday's neglect conviction, 38-year-old Deanna DeJesus faces up to 15 years in prison at a Nov. 5 hearing. Broward County prosecutors must now decide whether to retry her for manslaughter within 90 days.

In February, authorities say 41-year-old Willam DeJesus took his family to a Deerfield Beach RV park, where DeJesus fatally shot 76-year-old Ovila Plante. DeJesus then barricaded himself - along with his wife and two sons - in Plante's RV. DeJesus stabbed his wife and sons before taking his own life.

Prosecutors said Deanna DeJesus could have saved both children, but her attorney argued she was also a victim.
