DAVIE, Fla. — A woman celebrating her 21st birthday was charged with battery against her mother and resisting an officer with violence.
Davie Police investigators say Ashley Marie Hastings was screaming and had blood on her clothes and skin at 2 a.m. Thursday when they responded to the 1900 block of Southwest 81st Way.
Inside the residence, where blood was smeared on the front door, officers found Hastings' mother with facial injuries, according to a police report.
Hastings used her fists and feet as weapons against them, officers said in their reports, and cursed and spat at fire rescue personnel. They covered her face with a shield to keep from being hit by blood and saliva.
Hastings, who told Broward County Judge John "Jay" Hurley on Monday that she baby-sits an autistic child and works for a party company, said she did not remember the incident as it was described by police.
The judge ordered a $6,500 bond.
