'COPS' is back where it all began, in the county that launched a TV franchise. Unlike late Broward Sheriff Nick Navarro, left, who starred on the show, Sheriff Al Lamberti says he's "a frequent viewer" but won't appear when "COPS" resumes.

"COPS" is back where it all began, filming its 25th season in the county that launched a TV franchise.
Unlike late Broward Sheriff Nick Navarro, who starred on the show, Sheriff Al Lamberti says he's "a frequent viewer" but won't appear when "COPS" resumes in December.
"I have never been on it and I don't intend to be on it," said Lamberti, who is seeking re-election.
Though he's on Facebook and hosts a radio program, "It's not about me. It's about the men and women in law enforcement, as they say at the beginning of the show."
