Cocaine Worth $2.7 million intercepted at Miami International Airport by U.S Customs and Border Protection

A random search of baggage turned up 231 pounds of cocaine at Miami International Airport Thursday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found the drugs in three suitcases which had arrived from Quito, Ecuador.

The cocaine is worth nearly $3 million.

“This seizure of cocaine was the direct result of the hard work and dedication of CBP officers who protect the community by detecting and preventing the introduction of narcotics and illicit contraband into the United States,” said Roland Suliveras, Customs and Border Protection port director at Miami International Airport, in a written release.

No one has been arrested.
