CLEARWATER, Fla. - A baby was found dead at a Clearwater fire station Friday morning, the City of Clearwater confirms.
Firefighters found the baby girl wrapped up in a towel at the front step of Fire Station 49 on Sky Harbor Drive around 7:20 a.m.
It is unknown how long the baby had been left there or who left the baby. It is not yet clear when the child died.
The fire department is considered a safe place where a baby can be dropped of with no questions asked.
