(WESH) A Southern California man's pet somehow wound up in Brevard County.
The 3,000-mile odyssey for a dog named Smoke ended this weekend, thanks to a microchip.
Smoke went missing about three years ago, when the owner's roommate moved out and took the dog. However, it was not exactly clear how the dog made it all the way to the Sunshine State.

A network of volunteers will drive him in relays back to California.
