FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - An equipment failure on a boat in Fort Lauderdale put it on a collision course with the Las Olas Bridge on Friday.
A 90-foot sailboat carrying 8 people on board was out of control and slammed straight into the bridge, according to WPLG in Miami.
City officials say no one was injured when the collision happened at 12:45. The City of Fort Lauderdale helped to two the boat away.
Preliminary reports show that there was a problem with the transmission.
