The Florida Highway Patrol has about 1,600 troopers on duty this holiday weekend to crack down on speeders and aggressive drivers.
Sgt. Kim Montes told the Orlando Sentinel that the FHP isn't setting up speed traps but is trying to protect everyone's safety.
Thirty people died on Florida roads during last year's Thanksgiving weekend, down from 38 in 2010.
The state's heaviest congestion points are expected to be Interstate 95 in Brevard County and the intersection of Interstate 75 and Florida's Turnpike in Sumter County.
