(WFLA) Yard signs reading "God Bless America" are stirring up controversy in Bartow, Florida.
According to city laws the temporary signs, recently handed out by a local church, are not allowed to be displayed permanently.
They fall into a category including "For Sale" signs and political campaign signs.
Those who do not remove their signs could be fined or penalized.
To date, no one has received a penalty, and state law prohibits law enforcement officers from issuing citations for violations like this.
The city is considering a change to the laws to allow the signs.
