WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The South Florida Water Management District is keeping an eye on the water levels in the canals.
In anticipation of Hurricane Sandy, water managers started the process of lowering the canals. The process was done in stages.
Miami-Dade County on Tuesday, Broward County on Wednesday and the process was completed Thursday morning in Palm Beach County.
Even though the process of lowering the water levels has stopped, water managers will continue to monitor the rainfall over the weekend.
