Each year we're becoming more connected as a result of new technologies in computers and smartphones.
Yahoo! conducted a survey to give some insight on those connected behaviors when it comes to the use of email, IM and texting.
Yahoo! says that most Americans have three email accounts, two for personal use and one for work.
Yahoo! found that two in three adults check their email as soon as they wake up. That number is up 41 percent from last year. Yahoo! also found that 48 percent check their email while eating.
Of people on the job, 68 percent check personal emails while at work, according to Yahoo!.
Yahoo! also had a few social findings. When it comes to breaking up, Yahoo! found 13 percent of people think it's okay to end a relationship by sending an email, IM or text. Yahoo! also found that one in five people admit to having read their significant other's email without their knowledge.
Forget about those handwritten thank you cards, Yahoo! found that 70 percent of adults believe it's okay to send "Thank You" cards/notes for gifts via email.
And it seems we're getting email at younger age, as Yahoo! found that 81 percent of adults will allow their children to have their own email account before the age of 15.
