Want to be an astronaut? According to NASA, today's the last day that you can apply.
ABCNews reports that NASA currently has 57 active astronauts and still needs more to operate the space station year round.
An astronaut's pay starts at around $65,000 and a GS-13 can earn up to $100,701 per year, according to ABCNews.
Those interested in applying for the astronaut corps can submit their applications through the federal government's USAJobs.gov website.
Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in engineering, science or math and three years of relevant professional experience. Educators teaching kindergarten through 12th grade also are encouraged to apply, NASA says.
NASA expects to announce the final selections in 2013 with initial training to begin that summer.
