PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - A Palm Beach County resident is part of a growing trend: mobile devices turning consumers into "Appreneurs".
Nick Mohnacky, an avid surfer, has also been riding the smartphone wave to success. "Two of our apps have been featured in the Apple App Store," said Mohnacky. They were two money-making apps.
But his latest project has to do with his passion for surfing. The app is called, "Surfr"
"Surfr" is similar to a running app, but instead of tracking your time pounding the pavement, this is a tangible log of your adventures in the water.
"The details of the sessions, who we surfed with -- just kind of gets lost," said Mohnacky.
To get the project off the ground, Mohnacky turned to popular crowdfunding site, " Kickstarter ". People use Kickstarter to try to get others to fund their project.
Mohnacky's Kickstarter project launches Monday and he has 30 days to raise $50,000.
