LEAWOOD, Kan. - Police investigated a break-in at the Apple Store in Town Center early Friday morning in Leawood, Kansas.

Police officials said an alarm call came at 2:40 a.m. It took two minutes for authorities to arrive at the store. When police arrived, they found a sedan backed into the front of the Apple Store and nobody inside.

Police said the vehicle was stolen and the steering column was punched out, allowing someone to start the car without a key. They also believe the suspect used another car to get away from the scene.

Inside the store, police found several electronic items missing from the display tables. Police said this store was broken into in 2010 in a similar fashion, with a car backing into the glass. After that burglary, the store added metal bars to the storefront. Those were bent in Friday morning's burglary.

Store managers were working to clean up the scene, but were not sure they would open on Friday.

Police are reviewing the surveillance of the video.
