'Bed Intruder' song tops charts

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - There's nothing funny about a home intruder, but a July 29 news story about an attacker in Alabama has made millions of people laugh.

That's because the victim's brother, Antoine Dodson, gave what some describe as one of the most memorable interviews.

"Obviously, we have a rapist in Lincoln Park," Dodson told the camera. "He's climbing in your windows. He's snatching your people up, trying to rape 'em. So you all need to hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband, 'cause they're rapin' everybody out here."

Hours after Dodson gave that interview, the news story went viral on YouTube. Not too long after that, a remix of the interview dubbed, "The Bed Intruder" song also went viral. That song, has now made it to Billboard's Hot 100 list. The brothers who made the parody have even agreed to split proceeds with Dodson, the man who inspired them.

In addition to profits from the "Bed Intruder" song, Dodson is also making money by selling T-shirts with phrases like, "You are so dumb", which is how he described the attacker during the interview.

For such a horrible story, this one certainly has a happy ending. Dodson says he hopes to help other victims of sexual violence.
