PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - An adult entertainer survived being stabbed several times Sunday at a Palm Beach Gardens apartment complex.
Palm Beach Gardens police said they have made an arrest in the case.
The woman, who said she worked at Goldfinger's in Riviera Beach, was found stabbed multiple times inside the Gables Montecito apartment complex off of Northlake Boulevard.
Witnesses say the bloodied woman was running from building to building on the property trying to find help Sunday.
A resident, who did not want to be identified, said he was at home when he heard a loud banging at a door that led to his attached garage.
He opened the door and said he saw the female stabbing victim bleeding "from head to toe." He said he helped put pressure on her multiple stab wounds. He said he even turned his T-shirt into a tourniquet to wrap around the woman's body. Amid the chaos he was able to call 9-1-1.
The woman told police the suspect, later identified as Terrell Teddy Thomas, frequented Goldfinger's and had asked the woman out several times when she finally agreed to a date.
According to a probable cause affidavit, after dinner at a restaurant they got marijuana and returned to his apartment.
She said they smoked pot which he said he didn't normally do. She said at one point he grabbed her wrist and tugged at her and she felt like she might be raped.
She said he apologized then "started acting crazy." She told police he started crying and being paranoid.
She said she walked outside and he followed running down the stairs. She said he hit one of two people who had just pulled up and then ran back into his apartment.
The next thing she knew Thomas was holding a knife and slit his throat then began stabbing her multiple times, according to the affidavit.
That's when she began banging on doors seeking help.
Police say she suffered stab wounds to her shoulders, mid back, cheek, left wrist and palm and left forearm.
Police later recovered a knife with a 7' inch blade and a 5" handle. They say it was bent at almost a 90 degree angle.
Investigators say several people encountered Thomas during the incident.
One witness said he admitted being high and he said, "I know the world is getting ready to end."
According to the police report Thomas told an officer, "Smoked laced marijuana, I went haywire. Is this a dream? All she had to do was follow yellow brick road. Shoot me. All neighbor(s) were there why didn't they stop me. Did it happen in the garage?"
Thomas was treated for his neck wound and transported first to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center then the Palm Beach County Jail.
He faces charges of attempted murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, simple battery, and simple assault.
As of Monday afternoon, the stabbed victim is in good condition at St. Mary's Medical Center.
