WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A woman who conspired with her husband to try to kill her former lover was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison.
Cynthia Green-Anderson received the sentence on a conviction for conspiracy to commit attempted murder charges just two days after Circuit Judge Jeffrey Colbath sentenced her husband Craig Anderson to life in prison on attempted murder and conspiracy charges.
The South Bay couple stood trial together with two separate juries in October for the 2008 attempted murder of Jerry Lee Logan, who nearly died from multiple gunshot wounds after Green-Anderson lured him to the couple's home. Green-Anderson's jury acquitted her of attempted murder charges.
Her attorney, Chris Haddad, had asked Colbath for leniency and presented an expert who testified that she suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and battered woman's syndrome. Assistant State Attorney Chrichet Mixon presented an expert as well and told Colbath that Green-Anderson was an active participant in the plot against Logan.
