Woman shot in the face at a Belle Glade nightclub early Saturday morning

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - A woman is in critical condition after being shot in the face early Saturday morning at a Belle Glade nightclub in the 500 block of 16th Street, said Teri Barbera, spokeswoman for Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Ballroom Club around 2:37 a.m. When they arrived they found a woman shot in the face. She was treated at the scene and flown to Delray Medical Center in critical but stable condition, Barbera said.

Preliminary information is that the victim was attending a rap party at the nightclub when a fight broke out inside the club, spilling into the parking lot. Shots were fired and the victim, whose name has not been released, was hit in the face, she said.
