WESTERN PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. - Deputies are investigating two homicides, one in South Bay and another in Belle Glade.

A teen was shot and killed Sunday night in South Bay. The shooting was reported after 8:30 p.m., said Teri Barbera, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.

James Demps, 15, died where he fell on Northwest 11th Avenue, Barbera said. Sheriff's homicide detectives were gathering leads.

She said investigators believe Demps was walking when two men in a Toyota Camry drove by shooting at Demps, striking him multiple times. Demps attempted to flee and collapsed in front of a residence.

Demps attended Crossroads Alternative Center in Belle Glade.

A makeshift memorial was erected in the yard where Demps was discovered.

Earlier in the evening, deputies were called to Lakeside Medical Center when emergency room personnel alerted them to a man who'd been shot and killed. Investigators believe Reginal Mila, 26, was shot while driving in the 600 block of SW Martin Luther King Boulevard in Belle Glade.

Investigators determined Mila was shot multiple times while driving his F-150 pickup. His vehicle then struck a building, and then a vehicle in an intersection. A group of unknown men took Mila to the hospital, where he died.

Anyone with information about the shootings can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 458-TIPS (8477).
