A gunman fired several shots at a pair of police officers, hitting one, and held two hostages for nearly nine hours - but all came away from the standoff without serious injuries.

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - One man was transported by Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center after being shot multiple times in Belle Glade, said Deputy Eric Davis, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.
The patient is in critical condition, said Davis.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and Palm Beach County Rescue units responded to calls of a shooting at Palm Glades Apartments in the 1300 block of Palm Glade Drive just before 8:00 p.m., Davis said.
The motive of this shooting is unknown at this time, said the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies and Detectives are canvassing the area for leads.
