Divers called to investigate submerged vehicle off Belle Glade Road in Belle Glade

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - A dive team was called Saturday morning to investigate a submerged vehicle off the 1400 block of Belle Glade Road in Belle Glade, said Captain Don DeLucia, of Palm Beach County Fire Rescue.

He said a call was received around 9:36 a.m. that a vehicle was submerged off 1451 Belle Glade Road. A dive team was called to search the water for possible occupants in the water.

Upon arrival, emergency rescue personnel located a vehicle submerged in the water and a woman standing nearby who said she was the only occupant of the vehicle. She said she got out of the sinking vehicle by herself, DeLucia said.

He said the woman seemed intoxicated and that divers would go ahead and search the water to make sure there were no other occupants in the vehicle.
