BELLE GLADE, Fla. - A child and one adult were flown to a trauma center after being injured in a two-vehicle accident in Belle Glade. Two others suffered minor injuries.
The child and the adult were taken by Trauma Hawk to St. Mary’s Medical Center. Two others were taken by ground to Lakeside Medical Center, said Albert Borroto, spokesman for Palm Beach County Fire Rescue..
When rescue crews arrived on scene, they found that several people were trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Jaws of Life had to be used to extricate them. It is not clear if they were the ones that suffered serious injuries and had to be flown to the hospital.
The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of SR 715 and College Drive.
