Belle Glade courthouse evacuated; suspicious package found

BELLE GLADE, Fla. - A Palm Beach County Courthouse in Belle Glade has been evacuated after a suspicious package was found in the clerk of courts office.

Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating, sheriff's office spokesman Eric Davis said.

The courthouse, 38844 State Road 80, was evacuated around 10:50 a.m.

No threat accompanied the package and it contained no powder, Davis said.

The bomb squad is investigating as a "precaution," he said.
