ST. LUCIE COUNTY — Two people were arrested Sunday after St. Lucie County Sheriff's investigators found a suspected methamphetamine laboratory at a home on Blossom Court, according to affidavits released Monday.
Sheriff's investigators went to the residence in the 2400 block of Blossom Court and spoke to a state Department of Children and Families worker.
A call to a DCF hotline indicated Hoby Womble, 22, and 24-year-old Samantha Lynn Taylor were cooking meth in a spare room next to a dining room.
Investigators say there were three children in the home ranging from 15 months to 6 years old.
Taylor's oldest son told investigators he saw Womble putting "pool cleaner type stuff" into a bottle. He said Womble shook it up and "poof."
"He also said he has seen him do it on more than one occasion," an affidavit states.
Taylor told investigators she was making meth, but said she "has never done anything in front of her kids."
Womble said he had done nothing wrong and needed to speak with a lawyer.
A detective reviewed photos of the possible lab, and stated there were precursor chemicals typically used in meth production.
Investigators expected to get a search warrant Monday for the home.
Womble was arrested on a felony manufacturing methamphetamine in the presence of a child charge. Taylor was arrested on a felony child endangerment charge.
