PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A West Palm Beach man was arrested this weekend after police say he intentionally drove a car into his parents' Port St. Lucie home.
Police say Robert John Tate Jr., 30, rammed his car into the home of his parents at 6834 NW Granger Avenue just after 12 a.m. Saturday.
The homeowner told police he could hear a car revving its engines loudly just outside the home -- and when he went to his living room to investigate, he saw Tate speeding directly at him.
"After inspecting the property it appeared that the suspect tried to ram the rear of the house also but instead damaged some decorative fixtures and the patio," an officer wrote in the arrest report.
Investigators found pieces of Tate's bumper at the scene, according to the report.
The victims told investigators they believed their son, Robert, was responsible for the attack on their home. They also told officers that Tate had been acting strange recently and was posting YouTube videos of himself in a “Batman” outfit.
When police questioned Tate, he admitted to the ramming his car into the home, the arrest report states.
Tate was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and felony criminal mischief.
