PSL man Eric Luyao faces child abuse charges

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A Port Saint Lucie man is facing child abuse charges for hitting a nine-year old boy in the face with a paddle. 

Police arrested Eric Luyao yesterday. Investigators say Luyao used a wooded paddle to discipline the boy because he lied about taking a shower Tuesday night.

Authorities say the boy suffered a golf ball sized lump on the side of his face from the impact. Luyao remains behind bars at the Port Saint Lucie County jail.
