Port St. Lucie woman says money seized after drug sting came from 'tooth fairy'

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A 22-year-old woman was arrested after police say she engaged in a $440 oxycodone deal with an undercover investigator at a fast food eatery, according to a recently released affidavit.

Police also seized $1,300 from Kathryn Hudson, who is unemployed, during her Tuesday arrest, suspecting the money came from illicit drug activity, police Sgt. Robert Fonteyn said.

“The tooth fairy gave it to her” was Hudson’s explanation of how she got the $1,300, Fonteyn said.

Hudson, of the 2700 block of Southwest Ensenada Terrace in Port St. Lucie, met with an undercover detective at a Burger King restaurant in the 9000 block of South U.S. 1 and exchanged a bag of oxycodone pills with the investigator for $440.

Police also found a single alprazolam pill in a pill crusher and a prescription bottle of oxycodone with four pills. Fonteyn said Hudson had an oxycodone prescription and was selling the pills.

Hudson faces felony charges including trafficking oxycodone, illegal use of a two-way communication device and possession of alprazolam.
