PORT ST. LUCIE — An 18-year-old man was arrested Saturday after police say he pulled a gun on a man and demanded cash and his phone.

Anthony Phillips of the 2700 block of Navajo Avenue, Port St. Lucie, was arrested and charged with robbery with a firearm and aggravated battery.

The man said he walked to the store to buy some candy when he ran into Phillips. He told police he invited Phillips to his home and when they arrived, Phillips pulled a gun out of his waist band and demanded the man hand over his money and phone, according to the arrest affidavit.

He then told police Phillips hit him in the head twice with the gun and several times more with his fists. He said he gave Phillips $35 and Phillips then fled down St. Lucie Boulevard.

Police later located Phillips at his home and placed him under arrest.
