PORT ST. LUCIE — Two local residents were injured in a Monday afternoon crash in Osceola County that left two Lakeland men dead, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Wade Neely and Brenda Neely, both 50-year-old Port St. Lucie residents, were traveling east on State Road 60 in a 2002 Chrysler in Osceola County as a 2003 Toyota was heading west, an FHP release states. It apparently was raining at the time.
The driver of the Toyota, 37-year-old Alexander Herrera, lost control and traveled into the eastbound lanes. The front of the Chrysler collided with the Toyota's right side. The Toyota went off the road, partially rolling over.
Wade Neely, the driver of the Chrysler, sustained critical injuries, while Brenda Neely's injuries were listed as serious.
Herrera, who was ejected, and his passenger, Misael Alonso, 38, were pronounced dead at the scene. Both were listed as Lakeland residents.
The crash is under investigation.
