PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — A 21-year-old woman struck Saturday night by what police say was a hit-and-run driver on Southwest Chapman Avenue died Monday, Port St. Lucie police said Tuesday.

Tazra Gail Gross was walking west about 10:45 p.m. Saturday near her listed address in the 200 block of Southwest Chapman Avenue when she was struck from behind by what police said could be a dark-colored Dodge Dakota.

Gross was in the roadway at the time, a report states.

Another person was next to Gross at the time of the incident, according to a police diagram of the crash released Tuesday.

Gross, who sustained a fractured skull, punctured lung and serrated liver, was taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce. She died Monday.

Police released no other information Tuesday morning.
