PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Nehemiah Smith, 3, died in the hospital on Thursday morning after being pulled out of a Port St. Lucie pool on Saturday, according to St. Lucie Police spokesman, Frank Sabol.
Smith was airlifted to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center after the incident in the 1600 block of Southwest Taurus Lane, according to Sergeant Sabol.
Essence Smith, Nehemiah’s mother, told police and fire crews that her son fell into the pool while she was packing boxes inside of her home in preparation for a move.
Nehemiah’s aunt, Ebony Paramoore, pulled him from the pool and immediately began administering CPR before police and crews arrived, Sergeant Sabol said.
