PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- Employees at Tin Fish Restaurant at Tradition Square were too busy filling orders to catch Mitt Romney's speech that was going on across street Sunday -- so Romney came to them.
Moments after Romney left the stage, he walked right inside the restaurant and greeted employees personally.
"I hugged him, I kissed him on the cheek. Just told him how we were very -- it was just so amazing that he was here," said Roberta Hepburn of Tin Fish Restaurant.
While Hepburn and her crew were busy cooking up orders, Romney was busy with his own political menu. He served up a speech for an estimated 13,000 voters from Treasure Coast and beyond.
"It's not just what Mitt Romney is, it's the number of people that are here. There was an enormous crowd that all wanted to see more of what this man has to say." said Stan Martin, a Vero Beach resident.
As Romney spoke, a huge sign hung behind him with the words, "Medicare." It had a clear emphasis on seniors or those nearing retirement.
"I've paid my whole life and now to be, to have the potential to not be able to enjoy the aspect that would be upsetting," said Scott Beck, a Treasure Coast resident.
Younger people also packed inside Tradition Square, listening for a plan on job creation.
"We're both college graduates, both going to college and it's taking him forever to be able to find an audio job and he went to school. It's just the idea of being able to have a future," said Kristina Bowen, a Vero Beach resident.
Many voters said after leaving the rally their minds had not changed on the candidate. They said they left Tradition Square with renewed energy for the many they want to see in the White House.
