PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Motorcyclist, Mark Edward Camley, 44, of Port St. Lucie is identified by police as the victim of a deadly motorcycle crash that took place Friday evening.

Sergeant Frank Sabol, spokesman for Port St. Lucie Police Department, said Camley was on his motorcycle with his wife, heading eastbound on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard. Just after 9:30 p.m. he drove through the intersection of SW California Boulevard and was struck by a Saturn Ion driven by 80-year-old, Phyllis Irene Arlene Burke, also from Port St. Lucie.

Burke was heading westbound on SW St. Lucie West Boulevard when she tried to head south on SW California Boulevard and hit the motorcycle head on.

Both Mark and his wife Melinda were ejected from the motorcycle. Neither of them was wearing a helmet.

Mark sustained multiple injuries and was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Melinda and Burke sustained minor injuries.

The intersection at SW St. Lucie West Boulevard and SW California Boulevard was shut down for hours, so authorities could investigate the crash.

Charges are pending.
