PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A man who said it was "OK that he was drunk" was arrested Thursday after accusations he started harassing restaurant customers and said he'd "shoot you all up," according to a Port St. Lucie police report released Friday.
When police found Mark Daniel Adkins, 50, in the parking lot of the St. Lucie Grill in the 8900 block of South U.S. 1, he appeared to be passed out with two open beers next to him. The owner of the establishment told investigators Adkins entered her restaurant and appeared intoxicated.
"She said they asked him to leave and he walked out of the restaurant and tried to reenter the establishment through the back door," the report states. "She said that she then told him to leave again and this time he walked out to the patio on the north side and began to harass the customers."
The owner said Adkins, of the 1000 block of Southeast Holbrook Court in Port St. Lucie, walked back in and said, "I'm going to shoot you all up," though the owner didn't think he'd actually do so, the report states.
Police found Adkins in the parking lot. Adkins, who slurred his words, said he'd been drinking Budweiser, according to police.
"He said he works 100 hours a week and it was OK that he was drunk," the report states.
Adkins was arrested on a disorderly intoxication charge and taken to the St. Lucie County jail.
