PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A 22-year-old who shot himself in the head Friday at an indoor shooting range in St. Lucie West has died, said Master Sgt. Frank Sabol, Port St. Lucie police spokesman.
Sean Masih-Das was pronounced dead at the hospital on Saturday, Sabol said.
Masih-Das shot himself before noon at the St. Lucie Shooting Center in the 400 block of Northwest Concourse Place.
According to police, the shooting center performed a background check on Masih-Das before he rented a .22-caliber revolver.
Masih-Das received a brief course on gun handling and began target shooting. He then shot himself in the head and was rushed to an area hospital.
