PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - A 26-year-old man faces charges after being accused of inappropriately touching a 15-year-old girl who reportedly met him about a year ago, according to records released Tuesday.
Alexis W. Polychronis, of the 1300 block of Southwest Janette Avenue, was arrested Monday on three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation offender 18 or older, victim 12 to 16, following the incidents that apparently began in May.
The girl's parents told Port St. Lucie police they began noticing inappropriate behavior several months ago. They saw Polychronis standing "very close" to their daughter and "touching her in an intimate manner." The father said he warned Polychronis twice and the mother warned him once to keep away from their daughter. The parents said the girl is home schooled and allowed to go only to their place of worship.
The daughter said she met Polychronis between October and November 2009 and she eventually began sneaking out of the home to meet him.
The daughter described four instances during which Polychronis came to her window beginning in May when she said the touching occurred. Polychronis reportedly said he wanted to marry the teen and gave her a "promise" ring.
Polychronis declined to speak with police.
